前置詞　"at" の基本

今回は前置詞の「at」をまとめていきます。

onやinは非常に表現法が多くてコツも掴み辛いのが多いですが、

atはそれほどでもなくポイントをおさえれればイメージしやすく覚えやすい前置詞です。

時間の【at】

時間の「at」はon inよりも範囲が狭くピンポイントイメージがあります。

時刻・時点・年齢

【時刻】I get up at 6:30
私は6時半に起きます

【~の時】You can here at any time
いつでもここに来ていいわよ

【時点】No, we don't need a new car at the moment. 
現時点で新しい車は必要ないわ

【夜】I go to bed at 11 at night
私は夜11時に寝ます

【初め/終り】Tom met Sally at the end of March
トムは3月末にサリーに出会いました

【年齢】Jennifer got married at the age of 25
ジェニファーは25歳で結婚しました

【祝日】I spent time with my parents at Christmas
私はクリスマスに両親と過ごしました

初めは・　~回目で・　やっと、

【初め】 At first I was scared but now I am fine.
最初は怖かったけど今は大丈夫です

【~回目で】I passed the driving test at the third attempt
3回目の挑戦で、運転試験に受かりました

場所の【at】

時間の「at」と同様、場所の「at」もon inよりも範囲が狭く、「地点」を表すのに用いられます。

地点・電話番号・番地・学校・イベント、会議など

【地点】I have to pick up my friend at the station.
駅で友達をピックアップしないといけません

【電話番号】please reach me at 12-345-987
私に連絡の際は、電話番号12-345-987までかけてください。

【番地】My office is at 230 Park Avenue
私のオフィスはパークアベニューの230番地です

【食事】　 I told my parents about the speech contest at dinner.
夕飯中に両親にスピーチコンテストのことを伝えました。

値段・温度・速度　【at】

【値段】　I bought this purse at half price.
このハンドバッグ、半額で買ったの！

【温度】　Bake the pie in the oven at 250℃ for 45 minutes.
パイを250℃のオーブンで45分間焼きます

【速度】　The man was driving at 90 kilometers per hour
その男は時速90キロで運転していました

【at】を伴う動詞

特定のもの・人を見る　

Look at the pretty bird in the yard.
庭にいるかわいい鳥をみて

The man kept glancing at me at the bar.
その男はバーで私のことをチラチラ見ていた。

～に対して・～に向かって叫ぶ、投げる、笑う　

My mother yelled at me for spending too much money.　母はお金を使いすぎる私に怒鳴った

The boy threw the ball at my son　男の子は私の息子にボールを投げた

This campaign  aims at younger generation　このキャンペーンは若者世代をターゲットにしています。

He smiled at me. 彼は私に微笑みました

よく使うイディオム【at】

at all （否定形で）　全く　（疑問形で）そもそも

I don't like the way he treats his students at all.
彼の生徒への接し方が全く好きじゃありません

Do you feel sorry for the problem at all?
そもそも問題について申し訳ないと思ってるのですか？

at once すぐに、至急、同時に

You should see a doctor at once.
すぐに医者に行くべきです

good at / bad at / poor at 　~が得意　/　苦手

I am good at cooking  料理が得意です
I am bad at cleaning. 　掃除が苦手です
I am poor at time management. 時間管理が苦手です

at (the) most 最大限で、多くても、せいぜい /  at (the) least 　少なくとも

I only get to see my grandparents 3 times a year at most.  祖父母には多くても年に3回しか会えません
I hope at least 5 people will show up to the party. 　少なくとも5人はパーティに来ると思う

at best 　せいぜい よくても

I didn't study hard enough for the biology exam. I could get an average score at best
生物の試験勉強をあまりしなかったから、よくても平均点くらいだろう

at one's best　 ベストの状態で、絶好調で

I am not at my best in the winter.　私は冬はあまり調子がよくありません

at risk　危険にさらされて、不安定で

This species is at risk of extinction この生物は絶滅の危険にさらされている

at all costs　どんな代価・犠牲を払ってでも・何としてでも

we must avoid conflicts at all costs.
何としてでも争いごとを避けなければなりません

「at」まとめ

"at" は"on" や"in"に比べると、シンプルなイメージがあります。　範囲が狭く、特定のもの、人、数値、時間などが直後に来ます。上記の基本を押さえるとぐんぐん英語力がつきますよ！
